For Jewish Heritage Month, join us for a special screening of the Oscar Award winning film Ida directed by Paweł Pawlikowski. The film follows Anna, a young woman who discovers her Jewish identity right as she’s about to take her vows as a nun in 1960s Poland.

There will be a post-show discussion with Leslie Swift a film researcher at the United States Holocaust Museum. Leslie Swift has worked at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum for almost 20 years, first in the Photo Archives and then in the Film and Video Archive, which houses the Museum’s extensive collection of archival film from the Holocaust period. Since October 2014 she has been the Chief of the Film, Oral History, and Recorded Sound branch. Leslie has an undergraduate degree in history from Elmira College and a Master’s Degree in American Studies from the George Washington University.
